What is an RSS Feed?

I honestly didn't know what those RSS and XML buttons were until I thought I might want to offer it at Amazing Olive Oil. I decided to look into it...

Cool stuff actually! I'm going to start using it. No more bookmarks for me.

You can get news feeds from CNN or BBC and much more, including new movies, DVD releases, and upcoming events from convention centers, universities, stadiums, etc.

RSS brings your favourite parts of the web to you, so you don't waste your time searching.

How do you get started? Easy

Download free RSS Reader first (skip to bottom if you do not want to download software). This is special software that reads the "RSS feeds" from the largest news organizations right down to Amazing Olive Oil.

Windows -- RssReader
http://www.rssreader.com/

Mac -- NetNewsWire
http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/

Once you're set up, here's all you have to do...

Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on any orange RSS button on a site, blog or news source that interests you. Start by right-clicking on the orange button below. Then...

COPY-SHORTCUT Select Copy Shortcut ("Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac), and paste that URL into your RSS Reader.

If you don't want to download software, Yahoo, MSN, and Google all have one step solutions. Just click on one of those links and you'll be on your way.
