Bari Olive Oil

Wow! Several months ago Ellen from Bari Olive Oil in Dinuba, California contacted me and offered to send along some samples of their products for me to try. Bari Olive Oil Company was founded in 1936 and current owners, Kyle and Ryan Sawatzky are the 5th generation to farm the family estate. They strive to make sure every bottle of their oil is of premium quality and are well known for their buttery flavoured oil that is produced from late harvest mission olives.

I was pleasantly surprised, when a box landed on my doorstep with 16 (2oz) bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar! Very generous, and I've been enjoying the samples ever since.

Let me tell you, these folks have just about every kind of olive oil you could ask for and they are all wonderful. In addition to the basic organic, fruity, and delicate oils, there is lemon, orange, basil, chipotle, jalapeno, garlic, and more infused oils.

I like a robust tasting olive oil, but many people don't and shy away from olive oil because of it's sometimes strong flavour. It doesn't have to be though. Oils that are produced using particular varieties of olives or harvested late offer you a mild and healthy alternative.

I used the delicate on popcorn, the garlic with a vegetable stir fry, lemon on grilled fish, basil in my pesto sauce, etc, etc.

Bari has a nicely designed and user friendly website where you can go to learn more about and order their products. www.barioliveoil.com Give there products a try, you won't be disappointed.

New Spanish Olive Oils Coming Our Way

I received the following letter from one of my readers and thought you might like to check it out.

First we would like to start by saying that we are huge fans of your blog!

We are food lovers and have traveled all over the world tasting different cuisines and experiencing different cultures. But what really got our heart was Spain and the way Spanish people appreciated their dinning experience, quality of food and wines and especially the use of olive oil!

Recently we have incorporated a business and decided to bring some great wines and extra virgin olives oils from Spain.

At the moment we are running a project on Kickstarter for our private label flavored extra virgin olive called D'ORO SELECTIONS.

We would greatly appreciate if you could post our Kickstarter campaign link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/232978457/doro-selections-flavored-extra-virgin-olive-oil on your blog page starting from now on till October 18th while our Kickstarter campaign is running. By doing this you would help us bring awareness to our product and also help us achieve our mission which is to incorporate classic Mediterranean ingredients into American culture by bringing this amazing product into USA.

D'ORO SELECTIONS products are undoubtedly healthy and filled with flavor, so you can turn even the simplest salads or dressings into a feast, use it for dipping breads, baking and cooking.

This extra virgin olive oil is produced in the northern region of Spain,
P. D. O. Siurana (Tarragona). The olives that are used for pressing are never blended with a different or cheaper variety. They are 100% Arbequina olives, among the most famous Spanish varieties. The mill is strongly involved in practicing organic olive growing technics.

As opposed to infused oils, the olives are pressed simultaneously with other ingredients, obtaining a good source of natural antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients all good for your health.
We will be offering orange, clementine, lemon, rosemary, basil, thyme, chili, garlic, ginger and world's first coffee been extra virgin olive oil.

Please help us spread the word!

Best Regards,

Eurika & Antonio
