Olive Oil Bread Dip

Another simple and delicious olive oil recipe.
This olive oil bread dip is a great appetizer.

Picture
1/4 cup (6o mls) extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp (2.5 mls) salt (I like freshly ground sea salt)
1/8 tsp (.5 ml)pepper (I use freshly ground)
1/4 tsp (1 ml) basil
1/8 tsp (.5 ml) onion powder
1/8 tsp (.5 ml) garlic powder

The variations for this recipe are endless. Try this recipe and then add or remove any ingredients to customize it to your taste. Good quality fresh herbs and spices can make a dramatic difference in the flavour of your final products. The folks at Mountain Rose Herbs have a fresh supply of organic herbs, spices, teas and essential oils.

Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a flat shallow bowl or plate. My favourite dipping breads are Calabrese, sourdough, french and whole grain alpine bread, but you can use any bread you like. Cut or tear into bite sized pieces and serve in a basket or bowl.
